BIRDS

During their travel around the world, Basti & Lupo came up with the idea to create a premium artisanal gin that supports sustainable and social projects around the world, and thus creates an impact for our beautiful earth.

They saw the end of their studies as an opportunity to explore the world together. They are very grateful for the many great experiences they had during their journey. But they also encountered many grievances. In particular, the effects of climate change and the resulting problems, such as poverty, have continued to concern them. It soon became clear: we need to create an impact for our earth and give something back to the world.

Gin and sustainability, do they go together?
What they had in common from the start was a passion for high-quality spirits, especially gin. While still studying, they already started their own small company for the production of spirits. But let us face it: the spirits industry is neither the most modern nor the most sustainable. So they wanted to make a fundamental change. They wanted to create a space where alcohol and sustainability were not mutually exclusive. This idea stuck with them and the BIRDS brand was born!

The road to BIRDS
After countless months with many wet and cheerful test drinks and too little sleep, they presented BIRDS to the professional audience for the first time at the Bar Convent Berlin in October 2015 and their passion finally became a life project.

So far, BIRDS has provided 70 Indian schoolchildren with a hot meal for a year and planted more than 60,000 trees to support the reforestation of the Brazilian rainforest. #wearebirds
