Castell d'Or

Castell d'Or is the legacy of the very first cooperatives founded at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Castell d'Or consists of a collaboration of 16 wineries in various wine-growing areas of the Penedès, Baix Penedès, Conca de Barberà, Alt Camp, Tarragona and Lleida. All these affiliated wine-growing families have been working vines for more than 100 years to jointly produce wines and cavas of quality and character, from generation to generation. These wineries, with a history of more than a century, decided to join forces and share their knowledge of the processes of viticulture, winemaking, bottling and distribution of top quality wines, cavas and olive oil. At the same time, we are now able to serve a large consumer market with an excellent quality-price ratio.

They offer an extraordinary, award-winning Flama d'Or cava range. The secret behind the Flama d'Or is the exceptional quality and the balance between the three main grape varieties: Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada, with the local Trepat grape sometimes also being used. These are perfectly adapted to the Penèdes region and its Mediterranean climate. The winemakers emphasize meticulous quality, starting with the sustainable management of the vineyards through wine production, maturation and final production. The result is an elegant, balanced range of cavas of exceptional quality.
